Cancel JEE & NEET 2020! Educationists demand cancellation of entrance exams

Educationists across the country demand cancellation of entrance examinations in the country that includes JEE, NEET, and CLAT. The JEE & NEET exam would be conducted in July.


JEE and NEET 2020 examination would be conducted in July this year. But with an increase in COVID19 cases across the country, educationists demand cancellation of these entrance examinations including JEE, NEET, and CLAT. They have proposed to provide seat through an alternative assessment to students.

While speaking to TOI, Dr. R Murali, Tamil Nadu Secretary, Save Higher Education Movement said, “Everyone is under distress during this COVID19 pandemic and the cases are only expected to increase in July and August. An examination for crores of students across the country would be impossible to be held safely. At least for this one year, the exams must be scrapped for students' sake.” He more added that students are facing stress during this pandemic.

Another educationist V Jayendran Mani, President, Tirunelveli Matriculation Schools Association also said that postponement until COVID19 cases come down is also not an option since it will only affect the mental health of students. The students can instead be admitted based on thir board exam scores than entrance exams.”

JEE and NEET exam admit card is expected to release in the first week of July 2020. Meanwhile, HRD Minister has unveiled the ‘National Test Abhyaas’ app for aspirants willing to appear for JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 examination. Students who are willing to appear for these exams can take the test anytime as per their convenience. The app would generate immediate scores, correct answers with explanations, and analyze the time spent on different sections.
